PROFESSIONAL LAWN MOWING & STRIMMING SERVICES  IN TONBRIDGE

Experienced Grass Cutting & Garden Care Service in Tonbridge

Lawn Mowing Services in Tonbridge, Kent

This is one of our basic garden and lawn care maintenance services. We divide these services into sections to ensure you wring the best out of our professional services.

  • Mowing Services

We know mowing carries a significant impact on your grass. Although mowing seems like a straightforward task, it's more than just maintaining the height of your grass blades. When professional mowing is involved, your grass's health, growth, and nutrient distribution will be maintained.

Our mowing services include:

Ø Mowing grass to the appropriate length to promote proper growth and avoid shocking the grass

Ø Using sharp blades to reduce stress when mowing

Ø Avoiding soil compaction by mowing in the proper direction

Ø Cutting your grass at the right intervals to keep to ensure it remains at its ideal length and promotes healthy growth

Ø Mulching your lawn clipping to replace nutrients while preventing excess thatch buildup

These mowing techniques give your lawn an awe-inspiring appearance while keeping the grass healthy.

  • Strimming Services

After mowing, comes our strimming services, a technique we use to cut grass in areas the lawnmower cannot access. These hard-to-reach areas include the outer edges of your lawn, structures, and garden beds. Grass around these areas grows in a different direction, which calls for special attention. By using our these services and techniques, we will accentuate the edges of your lawn to provide an attractive, neat look. We use various tools that won't hurt your walls, pavement, or plants for this service.

Note: While we provide competitive prices for our lawn mowing and trimming services, the fees are charged based on the physical size of the lawn to be mowed.

How much does a lawn-mowing service cost?

We calculate the price we charge based on the area in square meters (sqm) of the lawn(s) we will cut for you.

The minimum that we charge is £15.50 and that covers lawns up to 150 sqm.

After that, it increases as the size of the lawn for mowing increases, so

up to 150 sqm £15.50
151 - 250 sqm £21.50
251 - 350 sqm £27.50
351 - 450 sqm £33.50
451 - 600 sqm £39.50

600 sqm is the upper limit for the grass cutting service we offer. We do not offer a lawn cutting service if the size of the lawns you want cutting exceeds 600 sqm.

We offer our grass cutting services once a week or once every two weeks. If you opt for the weekly service, we will discount your charge by 10% from the prices shown above (because the shorter grass makes the lawn mowing faster).

If you need weed pulling or other miscellaneous garden services, we can offer that at a flat rate of £18.50 per hour.

Tell me more about the lawn care service you mentioned?

An optional extra – although highly recommended – is our lawn care service. Lawns are, clearly, alive (that's why they keep growing and growing and growing). But to stay in the best health, green, weed and damage-free, lush and so on they need some maintenance.

Lawn care supports the aims mentioned above.

We have a six step lawn renovation process for delivering the best lawn care regime, with each delivered once in the year. This process consists of;

· Lawn Feed, Weed & Moss Control fertilisation
· Aeration and/or Scarifying* (depending on what your lawn needs)
· Organic Starter fertilisation
· Overseeding to thicken lawns
· Top Dressing
· Lawn Tonic and/or a Lawn Conditioner

Don't worry if you instruct this work part-way through the year. We will undertake the treatments we can deliver this year and then the remainder at the right time next year. Ideally, we need to carry out all of these steps every year.

What do they mean? Moss growth can easily spread in lawns which also tries to supplant grass and is a reoccurring problem. We use a moss control product to target the moss growing in the lawn. This treatment will kill the moss and gently fertilise and feed the existing lawn. Knocking the moss back helps healthy grass growth.

The weed element knocks down weeds growing in your lawn which might otherwise crowd out grass.

Scarifying will pull up all the moss that has been killed in the first step. Aeration allows air and water to get into the ground, opening it up and encouraging healthy growth supported by the feed.

We put down the organic fertiliser to feed and nourish the soil and prepare the ground to be overseeded. This treatment helps support and protect the grass through this challenging period.

Overseeding the lawn is a vital part of any lawn care process and this will help promote a healthy and thick lawn. Putting down new grass seed is called 'Overseeding'. The newly introduced grass seed can quickly colonise and establish itself in any gaps. The higher autumn rainfall nourishes this seed, so it has time to grow and develop

Top Dressing the lawn will make sure the grass seed has the best start by ensuring good contact with the soil.

We apply a lawn tonic and/or a lawn conditioner to nourish and protect the lawn, leaving your grass to flourish and develop as it should through the growth season.

How much does the lawn care service cost?

As all of our pricing, this is easy to work out and is very transparent. To work out the price, take the cost of the lawn mowing service provided for you and multiply it by 20. So, for example, let's say your lawn is 235 sqm. Regular lawn mowing is £21.50 because your lawn falls into the 151-250 sqm size. Multiply £21.50 by 20 and that gives £430.00. So, a one-off annual charge of £350.00 (for a lawn of this size) pays for the six step 'lawn renovation' process, to support the long term health and appearance. Please note: This does not include taking away of garden waste.

For prices, that's it. Our prices are simple, and we aim to be very transparent. We want you to know where you stand and what things will cost. We believe in offering fair and affordable prices for all customers. And we stick to the prices we have quoted.

One thing to mention is that we need easy access to all areas we are going to mow for you. We may have to apply additional costs if access is difficult or if the grass is over 6 inches tall, as this will take us longer to mow.

Please bear this in mind if your grass has not been cut regularly before us stating delivery of the best grass cutting service for you. If the grass has got long, the first cut is likely to take longer and cost more. Our team member can tell you more when they visit.

OK, you've told me about your grass cutting professionals and the lawn care program. What else do I need to know?

Do you know how often your grass needs to be cut for its optimal health? For most lawns, this is once a week. Each blade of grass needs to be reduced by about 1/3rd every time. The grass's cut end produces a hormone that suppresses horizontal growth and stimulates growth near the roots. Treating it in this way means you get a thicker, healthier turf which also squeezes out weeds. You should never leave a lawn longer than two weeks.

Lawns which have not been cut often enough will be patchy and thin. If they are cut infrequently and then too much taken off at once, the lawn cover will be inadequate, with large gaps.

If you have these problems, regular mowing (and lawn care) will start lawn repair for you. Lawn repair is entirely possible, and you may be pleasantly surprised by how quickly we can have things looking better for you.

So, regular (ideally, weekly) mowing, by grass cutting professionals who know what height to set the mower blades at, will result in stronger, thicker and healthier grass. Also, treatment like this means fewer weeds and fewer patches.

You will quickly see more and healthier growth, and you will be able to feel the thicker grass underfoot when you walk across the lawn.

Regular cutting will also reduce the number of bugs in the lawn. Some of the bugs are pests that feed specifically on grass, sap-suckers and others. Frequent, accurate cutting will reduce the incidence of pests, so protecting the lawn.

Strengthening the lawn by regular cutting (which encourages thickening and growth near the root) means that a regularly cut lawn will recover from a cut more quickly than a lawn mowed infrequently and which has been allowed to get too long.

Is it OK to leave grass cuttings on the lawn?

Not only is it OK, but experts recommend it. As the lawn clippings decompose on the lawn, they release water and nutrients back into the soil and right to the grass's roots on which they are resting. These nutrients will also help the grass grow thicker, greener and healthier - a beneficial mulch.

Sometimes, people are concerned that leaving grass cuttings on the lawn will contribute to 'lawn thatch', but this is not so. Lawn thatch is dried out material beneath the growing grass and on top of the root. The material on the root is tougher than grass clippings and does not break down as readily. Lawn thatch is not caused by leaving grass cuttings on the lawn.
